Bangalow Home —
A Transformation Story

A dark and dated rental brought to life with layered styling, natural textures, and a softer, brighter palette.

This Bangalow property was full of charm but lacked warmth and flow. With thoughtful styling, fresh furnishings, and carefully curated details, each room was reimagined to feel inviting, calm, and connected.

The transformation highlights how styling can completely shift the mood of a space — without a full renovation.

For this project, I leaned into a soft coastal–meets–rustic style. The aim was to respect the home's timber details while lightening the overall palette to create flow and calm. Neutral furnishings layered with natural textures — linen, rattan, and raw wood — set the tone, while subtle styling accents like fresh greenery, ceramics, and textiles brought softness and soul.

Living & Lounge

Living room before — dated blue couches, red Persian rug, cluttered and heavy Living room after — white sofas, rattan armchair, open and bright with the home's triangular timber windows
The lounge lacked cohesion, with heavy furniture placement and clutter pulling the room in different directions.
A neutral sectional, rattan accents, and layered lighting refreshed the space into a relaxed, open living area — letting the home's beautiful triangular windows finally breathe.

Bedroom

Bedroom before — sparse white bed, bare walls, dark floors, no warmth Bedroom after — canopy detail, warm lamplight, Moroccan rug, rattan bench, layered soft textiles
Sparse furniture and minimal styling left the bedroom feeling unfinished — functional, but without any warmth or character.
Layers of soft textiles, flowing curtains, and a canopy detail transformed the room into a serene retreat. A Moroccan rug and rattan bench add warmth and grounding.
Styled detail — rattan mirror, bird of paradise plant, sheer curtain

Detail — rattan, greenery & sheer linen

Living & Dining

Living and dining before — red Persian rug, dark chairs, heavy mismatched furniture Living and dining after — white sofa, fresh flowers, carved timber mirror as a hero feature
The living and dining areas felt heavy, with mismatched furniture and limited light flow creating a disconnected, uninviting space.
A white sofa and woven textures let the room breathe. The carved timber mirror — already in the home — became the hero feature it always deserved to be.

Office / Spare Room

Spare room before — cluttered, used as storage, not functional or inviting Home office after — clean desk, curated shelving, sheer curtains, calm and light-filled
Used as a storage space, this room wasn't functional or inviting — its potential completely hidden under clutter.
A clean desk, curated shelving, and sheer curtains created a light-filled home office that inspires focus while still feeling calm and homely.
